You would imagine that Air Force jobs are all
about airplanes and flying missions. Though the aim of the air
force is to defend the nation through control and exploitation
of air and space, only 4% of air force personnel are actually
pilots. The rest of the military
careers offered by the air force are to do with communications
and electronic systems, aircrew operations, fuel, munitions and
weapons maintenance, logistics and supply, safety and sanitation,
security police, visual information, accounting, finance and auditing,
administrative and fire protection.
One of the most important military
recruiting programs for air force jobs consists
of the community college of the air force. Here, students may
choose from a range of educational programs while also receiving
on duty training to be in the US
military.
Air Force jobs are, obviously available in all
manner of areas, some of which are given above, which would be
in the nature of full time military
careers. For those not wishing to have a full time career
in the US military however, may
serve in the capacity of a military
reserve. Members of the military reserve get a lot of benefits
of being in the military. Reserves get paid drill pay and also
become entitled for certain tuition assistance programs, insurance
benefits, medical benefits and certain re-employment rights.
Military recruiting
into the reserves does require certain criteria to be fulfilled.
As a qualified, college educated professional, you can get a direct
appointment with some minimal training. Prior service personnel
even have the chance to obtain a rank equivalent to one enjoyed
previous to separation.
Like reserve jobs, full time army
jobs have benefits other that just in the form of remuneration.
While there is the obvious job satisfaction to be got from the
knowledge that you make a difference to the nation and to countless
peoples’ lives, there is also the comfort of job security
to be had. Army jobs also have
retirement benefits, disability benefits, complete health care,
commissary benefits, and exchange shopping.
